Job Description

The Alton River Dragons broadcaster internship aims to provide beneficial and valuable learning experience, establishing a solid foundation for understanding not only the broadcast side of sports, but the business aspect as well. You will work alongside a sports broadcast and marketing veteran of 25 years. Our aim is to make you the BEST and RIGHT option to employers by showing you the skills and traits GMs and owners are actually looking for in today's sports business world. The Alton River Dragons are located in Alton, IL which is a 20 minute drive from downtown St. Louis and play in the Prospect League. The successful candidate will have a number of duties and responsibilities with the opportunity to make the position and tasks given their own. Serve as the co-commentator at all 28 River Dragons home games. This includes at least one inning of play-by-play during each game, color commentary for the other innings and conducting the post-game on-field interview. The intern will also get the opportunity to do at least one full game of play-by-play exclusively on the team's Prospect League TV broadcast Conduct interviews with players Assist with updating video broadcast graphics Assist with updating the stadium video board Maintain the press box Write the game's post game recap for the team website (home and away) Update the team's social media accounts during games (home and away) Assist with the production of videos for social media and video board content. This includes collaborating with the team's marketing interns Other duties as assigned as well as created in unison with the intern and team. Candidates from anywhere are encouraged to apply as many previous interns have come from outside of the St. Louis area. However, note this is a non-paid internship and housing is not provided.
