Job Description

Reporter:
General assignment position focused largely on law enforcement (courts, police, state troopers and Coast Guard), local government and natural resource reporting. Great opportunity for a career-minded, efficient, productive reporter. Something new and unique to write about every day in Alaska's fourth largest city, which not only serves the community of 13,000 but the one million-plus visitors during the spring, summer and fall tourist season. 40 hours weekly for a 5-day, morning print publication — and 7-day online edition — in Ketchikan, Alaska. Island living in the Tongass National Forest, a place conducive to an outdoor lifestyle, but a community also known for its visual arts and entertainment. There is no other place like this. Housing available through the newspaper, if desired. Benefits include, but are not limited to, paid vacation and 401k. Respectable salary. Send cover letter, resume, and work samples to: tena@ketchikandailynews.com
