in beautiful Grand Junction is accepting applications for a main Monday - Friday evening Anchor position. The ideal candidate will be able to produce and anchor lively and informative news programs on our FOX station, KFQX. Please apply and be certain to attach a reel of your most recent on-camera work. The anchor will produce content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reports factual and fair daily news stories for broadcast.
- Arranges interviews with people who can provide information about stories or who can provide engaging interviews or content for streaming shows.
- Reviews copy and corrects errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
- Researches and analyzes background information related to news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information.
- Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
- Writes stories for the web and other eMedia platforms.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience preferred.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
- Experience in news reporting.
- Superior on-air presence.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Flexibility to work any shift.
