Primary Responsibilities:

Researches, writes and produces original news and feature content and programming as assigned for use in broadcast and digital media platforms. Responsibilities include gathering information, conducting interviews, writing scripts and presenting the stories live or as part of recorded radio, television or digital audio/video packages. Conducts and writes up interviews for inclusion in his/her assigned stories. Adapts and/or translates content produced in English into native language, as assigned. Versions content produced in the Korean language into English for distribution, as assigned. Fluency in Korean is mandatory and a requirement for the position. Participates in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or tv programs and/or web and social media coverage and segments as assigned Voices material for/during broadcasts as assigned, including material prepared by others Contributes to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned Ability to work under tight deadlines, covering breaking news, events and or feature stories. Adapts and/or translates content produced in English into native language, as assigned Participates in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or tv programs and/or web and social media sections, as assigned Voices material for/during broadcasts as assigned, including material prepared by others Contributes finished products meeting standards to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned Performs technical functions including operation of equipment, as assigned Contributes to teamwork, facilitating tasks of teammates, as needed Meets VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines Serves as videographer/reporter, as assigned Serves as anchor/program host as assigned Makes suggestions about policy and workflow improvements Works independently or as a member of a team Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area, plus the ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned Has specialized knowledge including formal education in a field desired by VOA, regularly demonstrating that added ability through the performance of his/her duties Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with VOAs digital asset management system Other related duties as assigned About the Agency The United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) is an exciting, multi-media, multi-cultural, global media agency that carries out all United States civilian international broadcasting.
