Job Description

NEWS JUNKIE

Someone who checks headlines before coffee, knows what is happening in U.S. politics without needing to be briefed, understands what makes a story matter, and can move quickly in a fast-paced creative environment. What You'll Do You will help research, curate, and shape daily political and breaking news content for a fast-growing podcast and YouTube operation.
Responsibilities include:

Help formulate 4 to 6 strong episode concepts or segment ideas per day Support a high-volume production schedule of roughly 22 segments per week Research stories quickly and accurately using reliable sources Identify the strongest angle, emotional hook, comedic opportunity, and political significance of each story Prepare clear research notes, summaries, source links, and talking points for hosts and producers Help shape episode flow, segment order, and content priorities Stay on top of what is trending across YouTube, X/Twitter, TikTok, podcasts, cable news, political media, and independent journalism Work closely with a small, fast-moving creative team Pitch ideas constantly and be ready to pivot when breaking news hits Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is already plugged in.
