• We are seeking a dynamic and passionate News Reporter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in journalism and possess excellent communication and writing skills. This role involves researching, writing, and reporting on various news stories while adhering to AP style guidelines. The News Reporter will engage with the community, conduct interviews, and utilize multimedia tools to enhance storytelling for the Azle and Springtown area. Duties Research and gather information on current events and newsworthy topics. Write clear, concise, and engaging news articles that adhere to AP style. Conduct interviews with sources to obtain firsthand accounts and perspectives. Edit and proofread articles for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to publication standards. Utilize photography, videography, and video production skills to create compelling visual content. Manage social media platforms to promote stories and engage with the audience. Fact-check all information before publication to ensure credibility. Collaborate with editors and other reporters to develop story ideas and coverage plans. Stay informed about local, national, and international news trends. Requirements Prior experience in a related field preferred. Strong writing skills with experience in copy editing and proofreading. Familiarity with AP style guidelines is essential. Proficiency in photography and videography; experience in video production is a plus. Excellent research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into accessible content. Strong communication skills for effective interviewing and collaboration with team members. Experience in social media management for promoting news content is desirable. A passion for journalism and a commitment to ethical reporting practices.
