Job Description

The Temple Daily Telegram, an award-winning daily newspaper in Central Texas, is looking for a veteran public safety/general assignments reporter experienced in digital journalism to cover a beat that includes cops, fire department, sheriff's office and more. Experience covering courts would be beneficial. The public safety reporter will be on top of breaking news with the ability to quickly post and update ongoing events online, initiate news features, enterprise stories and weekend features. Ideal candidates will have a degree in journalism with solid clips, InDesign pagination experience and good news judgment. Deadline newspaper reporting is a plus.
