Job Description

Wyoming News Now is looking for a weekend Meteorologist and weekday Reporter. The weekend meteorologist will be responsible for producing daily weather forecasts on Saturday and Sunday in addition to adding weather content to all of our platforms. Three days a week this role will shift to reporter duties and turn a story on each assigned day. About the
Station:
Wyoming News Now is the dominant news source for the both the Casper and Cheyenne-Scottsbluff markets. Wyoming News now is made up of two stations, KCWY in Casper, and KGWN in Cheyenne, Wyoming. A community along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Cheyenne is home to F.E. Warren Air Force Base, the Capital City and Cheyenne Frontier Days, the world's largest outdoor rodeo. Meteorologist Responsibilities:
  • Analyze weather data and prepare detailed forecasts
  • Prepare graphics to support weather presentation
  • Conversational on-air presentation
  • Post content to website and station social media platforms
Qualifications:
  • Degree in meteorology, broadcast journalism or related field
  • Some anchor experience (college experience accepted)
  • Flexibility in scheduling
  • Knowledge and interest in meteorology
  • Knowledge of weather systems (WSI MAX) a plus
Reporter Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular duties of an MMJ (Multimedia Journalist) reporter three days a week
  • from developing story ideas to shooting, editing, and going live, as well as posting on digital and social platforms
  • Report live as warranted by the story needs
  • Knowledge of non-linear video editing programs is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills Demo reel required
