Job Summary We are seeking dynamic and dedicated Community News and Sports Reporters to join our vibrant journalism team across multiple communities. Your energetic storytelling will inform and engage a diverse audience, providing clear, accurate, and timely updates on each community or its prep sports online in myriad platforms and in print in weekly newspapers. Duties Research, monitor, and report on local, state, or federal government activities, policies, and legislative developments as they relate to communities. Produce engaging articles, news briefs, and features that adhere to AP style guidelines for clarity and consistency. Edit videos and written content for accuracy, clarity, and impact while ensuring proper proofreading and copy editing. Fact-check all information thoroughly to maintain journalistic integrity and credibility. Manage social media channels by sharing stories, engaging with audiences, and increasing online visibility. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to develop multimedia content that enhances storytelling across platforms. Requirements Proven experience in journalism or reporting with a portfolio of digital content creation along with strong story-telling in longer form print work. Proficiency in photography and videography. Strong research skills to gather accurate information from credible sources. Exceptional proofreading and copy editing skills to ensure error-free content delivery. Ability to work under daily deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. Knowledge of current journalistic practices including fact-checking and ethical reporting standards.

Pay:

$37,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
