REQUIRED
to be able to use a LIFT that goes high and heavy equipment like hand trucks and dollies. Daily physicality to this position and building of crates is a possible requirement as is assisting loading trucks. Small business and requirements of position involve understanding a small business workload and necessity to wear different hats. Good driving record will be required and looked into. Comfort with delivery in Manhattan locations, loading docks and warehouses. Duties Receive, inspect, and verify incoming art shipments and prepare and pack them to go out with assessment of how to safely and expertly do that. Prepare outgoing art shipments by packaging products securely and labeling them appropriately. Maintain accurate records of all art shipping and receiving transactions in the inventory management system. Collaborate with various departments to coordinate the movement of goods within the facility. Assist in inventory management in our database and assess locations and conditions and weights. Manage a second employee that will be part-time to assist. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries related to shipping and receiving and customer interface with tracking and setting up of deliveries Personally be a part of local and inter- business installations and deliveries. Qualifications Experience working in art databases and shipping sites like Fed-ex, DHL, Pirate ship. Experience packing, moving and handling art , including flat art, canvases, sizable works and sculpture. Able to lift heavy objects. Experience with on-site packing and deliveries of art. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Designs stage sets and scenery for performances, primarily for live theater performances, or sets for filmed performances or for events such as press conferences.
