Full-Time, In-Person About the Position Light Up The Night is a Florida-based event production and fabrication company specializing in custom event environments, branded activations, scenic elements, stages, architectural installations, and experiential builds. We are seeking a talented Industrial 3D Designer / Set & Experiential Designer who can take a project from creative concept through fabrication-ready design . This is not strictly a rendering position. We are looking for someone who can think creatively, understand how physical environments and structures are built, and translate ideas into accurate 3D models, realistic client renderings, and detailed dimensional drawings that our fabrication team can use to construct the final product. The ideal candidate combines creativity, 3D design, spatial awareness, and practical fabrication knowledge . You should be comfortable designing everything from custom branded environments and stage sets to architectural features, retail-style displays, experiential installations, and one-of-a-kind event structures. What You'll DoCreative & Industrial Design Develop creative concepts for custom event sets, branded environments, scenic installations, architectural features, and experiential activations. Turn client briefs, sketches, reference images, branding packages, and creative direction into original 3D designs. Design with both appearance and real-world fabrication in mind. Determine appropriate dimensions, proportions, materials, finishes, and construction approaches. Develop creative solutions that can realistically be fabricated, transported, installed, and dismantled. Work with project managers, fabricators, production teams, and clients to refine concepts from initial design through final production. 3D Modeling & Visualization Create accurate, dimensionally correct 3D models. Produce photorealistic renderings for client presentations and approvals. Build complete environments including stages, scenic elements, structures, furniture, signage, lighting, and branded components. Apply realistic materials, textures, finishes, lighting, and environmental effects. Create camera views and flythrough animations when required. Design within existing architectural spaces using provided dimensions, CAD drawings, or site measurements. Revise models efficiently based on client and fabrication feedback. Fabrication & Build Drawings A major responsibility of this position is turning approved creative concepts into clear, buildable production drawings . The designer will be expected to: Produce detailed dimensional drawings for fabrication. Create plan, elevation, section, and detail views. Provide accurate overall and component dimensions. Break complex designs into individual fabricated components. Design around real-world materials and standard material sizes. Account for material thicknesses, connections, clearances, tolerances, and assembly requirements. Develop drawings that clearly communicate how a set or structure should be fabricated and assembled. Work directly with our fabrication team to resolve design and construction challenges. Modify designs when necessary to improve structural feasibility, cost, transportation, installation, or fabrication efficiency. Create CNC-ready or fabrication-ready geometry when applicable. Design & Software Skills The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in one or more professional 3D/CAD platforms.

Preferred software experience:

Vectorworks Blender AutoCAD SolidWorks Fusion 360 is a MUST Rhino SketchUp Adobe Illustrator Adobe Photoshop Experience with Vectorworks and/or industrial CAD software is strongly preferred. Required Skills Strong 3D modeling and industrial/spatial design ability. Ability to design creatively from a client brief or initial concept. Strong understanding of scale, proportion, dimensions, and spatial relationships. Ability to create fabrication-ready dimensional drawings , not just conceptual renderings. Understanding of how designed objects and environments translate into physical construction. Ability to accurately model using real-world dimensions. Strong understanding of materials, textures, lighting, and realistic rendering. Ability to read architectural plans, elevations, and shop drawings. Basic knowledge of fabrication techniques and materials including wood, metal, plastics, acrylic, fabrics, printed graphics, and specialty finishes. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to manage multiple projects and revisions in a fast-paced production environment. Graphic & Production Design The position will also work with branded graphics incorporated into physical environments.

Experience should include:

Preparing large-format graphics and signage. Setting up files using correct scale, bleed, trim, and overlap requirements. Applying client branding accurately to dimensional environments. Preparing artwork for CNC, routing, printing, or other fabrication processes. Following strict corporate brand guidelines. Creating polished presentation layouts combining renders, plans, elevations, materials, and graphics. Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is highly desirable: Event set design Experiential design Industrial design Scenic design Exhibit or trade show design Architectural visualization Retail environment design Stage design Custom fabrication Millwork CNC routing Large-format printing Metal fabrication CAD drafting Architectural floor plans Temporary structures and installations Event production Candidates with experience working directly with fabricators, carpenters, CNC operators, welders, installers, or production teams will be strongly considered. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to reliably commute to our Fort Lauderdale facility. Ability to visit job sites and fabrication areas when required. Ability to take and verify field measurements. Ability to lift 50 lbs when necessary. Some travel may be required. Availability for extended hours or weekends during major productions and installations.
