Works with directors and producers to plan props and materials needed for a show.

Part-Time Gallery Associate Description:
Thalassa, a contemporary art gallery in downtown Rockport, Massachusetts, is seeking a reliable and weing Part-Time Gallery Associate to support the gallery during Sunday open hours. The Gallery Associate will help create a positive experience for visitors while supporting day-to-day gallery operations. The ideal candidate is personable, attentive,fortable engaging with the public, and interested in contemporary art. The Gallery Associate will be familiar with Thalassa's current exhibitions and artists and will serve as a knowledgeable and approachable presence for visitors to the gallery. Responsibilities Wee visitors to the gallery and create a friendly, engaging environment. Answer general questions about Thalassa, current exhibitions, artists, and artwork on view. Remain informed about current exhibitions and be familiar with relevant artist and artwork information. Assist visitors who are interested in learning more about or purchasing artwork. Process artwork and other gallery sales through the gallery's point-of-sale system. Collect customer contact information and other relevant details for follow-up when appropriate. Maintain a clean,anized, and weing gallery environment. Keep gallery materials, including exhibition information and other ed resources,anized and stocked. Open and/or close the gallery as required for the scheduled shift. Communicate visitor questions, sales inquiries, and other notable issues to the Gallery Director. Assist with occasional basic gallery tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal andmunication skills. Friendly, professional, andfortable interacting with visitors of different ages and backgrounds. Reliable and able to work independently. Comfortable learning and using a point-of-sale system to process transactions. Interest in contemporary art, galleries, museums, or other culturalanizations. Previous customer service experience in retail, hospitality, museums, galleries, or a related environment is preferred but not required. Previous experience with art, museums, galleries, or art history is a plus. Must be available to work the regular Sunday 12:00-3:00 PM shift.
