Job Summary We are seeking a talented and energetic Set Designer & Decorator to bring creative visions to life for a Halloween experience. In this dynamic role, you will collaborate closely with our Buildout Manager to develop captivating set concepts that enhance storytelling. Your expertise in scenic design and decoration will transform ideas into visually stunning environments that captivate audiences. Duties Collaborate with the production team to interpret scripts and develop detailed set design concepts. Oversee the construction of sets using carpentry, woodworking, and stage rigging techniques, ensuring all elements follow blueprint specifications. Coordinate with lighting designers and interior decorators to integrate lighting design and visual arts painting seamlessly into the set environment. Supervise the use of hand tools, fabrication materials, and scenic props to ensure quality craftsmanship. Implement safe work practices during all phases of set construction, decoration, and dismantling activities. Assist in performance props setup and stage rigging Experience Proven experience in scenic design or set decoration within theater, film, television or live event production environments. Knowledge of color theory, lighting design principles, interior design concepts, and visual arts painting techniques. Familiarity with stage rigging systems, rigging safety protocols, and heavy lifting techniques required for large-scale set assembly. Experience working with performance props and understanding their role within scene design. Ability to read blueprints accurately while following technical specifications for set construction. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship in a collaborative environment.
