A Set or Exhibit Designer designs display booths or exhibits for museums, galleries or trade shows. Develops drawings and plans to accommodate the specific space, lighting and temperature requirements of materials to be exhibited; builds or supervises building of exhibits. Designs stage sets and scenery for performances, primarily for live theater performances, or sets for filmed performances or for events such as press conferences. Works with directors and producers to plan props and materials needed for a show.

Our Event Services unit provides meeting , event, sponsorship, and tradeshow management worldwide through the expertise of our meeting professionals, who manage every facet and detail of our client organizations' events. Our goal is to work closely with a client organization's leaders to create an enjoyable conference experience for all attendees, exhibitors and sponsors, while ensuring a successful outcome based on the organizations' event objectives. What You Will Do Assist with pre-event preparation: F&B orders, menu selection, drafting specs and AV requirements Assist with vendor RFPs, communications, schedules and coordination of services Assist with housing lists, VIP housing management, populating reports Conduct on-going exhibitor communications and provide customer service Utilize floor plan management and CRM software for setting up an exhibit hall floor plan, booth moves, space assignments, booth cancellation and sales reporting Drafting exhibitor communications and exhibitor services manual Assist with gathering information to build a registration website Assist with onsite preparation: ordering supplies, promotional products, onsite procedure documents This Role Might Be for You If… You are highly detail oriented with strong multi-tasking and time management skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks conforming to shifting priorities, demands and timelines You have the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment You have applicable analytical and problem-solving skills You possess strong written and oral communication skills You have strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of responsibility, initiative and professionalism You have demonstrated customer service skills (phone skills, in person, email) You have the ability to lift 40 pounds You have the ability to travel 10-15%, both domestic and international, and work overtime as needed to attend events and client meetings (may include weekends) Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution 0-2 years relevant professional experience Preferred Qualifications At least 6-12 months of experience in an event planning environment is a plus Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Document collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams, Google Workspace) Where Do You Fit? Employees will work a standard 40-hour week, with the possibility of additional hours based on project deadlines. Smithbucklin considers several factors when determining compensation, including a candidate's recent coursework, training, experience, and certifications, among other considerations.
