Morrow Productions is a creative and production firm in Orlando, Florida. NGLCC. YOUR ROLE

As the Scenic Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating and bringing to fruition themed props, décor, and scenic elements while fully upholding the design intent for our clients. You will be working under the guidance and leadership of the Production Studio Foreman or their respective appointee. You will be working with the Production Studio leaders, Producers, and other fabricators to create, assemble, set dress, and install key show set pieces and décor for projects nationwide. Responsibilities include assessing client needs, using specialized skills and equipment to create custom pieces, and ensuring the final product meets quality standards. Our ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and experience with a majority of these skills: scenic painting, faux painting, spray technician, prop modification, 3D printing, sculpting, cast and mold, and set dressing. Ultimately, the role of the Scenic Fabricator is to produce high-quality, custom pieces that meet or exceed our clients' unique needs and expectations. You will also participate in installations and strikes as needed to support projects nationwide. This includes but is not limited to Theme Park Attraction Props, Halloween, and Christmas show sets and other attraction projects. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and well-organized workspace. Furthermore, you will also have the opportunity to work on highly confidential projects for our clients in the resort, experience, and theme park industries. Your ability to keep our clients' secrets safe is key.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Have a working knowledge and/or ability to successfully scenic paint, sculpt, mold and cast, prop modification, build and construct prop elements, and set dress.
• Specify, source, and procure materials and tools to perform the work.
• Basic knowledge of terminology associated with creative design, production art, tooling, materials, and processes.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have the ability and agility to adjust pace according to project schedules.
• Must have the ability to follow art direction and specified processes.
• Be able to read shop fabrication drawings and use reference images and guides to direct final finishes.
• Review and interpret client specifications and design requirements to successfully complete projects as assigned.
• Must be flexible to travel for installations and strikes to support projects as needed.
• Collaborate with other talent, and sometimes work in teams, in the production studio to ensure project completion.
• Mentor apprenticeship talent and lead small teams on large scale projects as assigned.
• Collaborate with leadership and BMP team to create specialty scenic props and holiday décor as needed.
• Must have the ability to use various spray equipment (i.e. HVLP's, Airless sprayers, airbrushes)
• Record progress of work and complete required documentation.
• Able to match/replicate textures and complex finishes to satisfy creative intent.
• Have a creative eye to add value to assigned projects.
• Assist with quality control on all assigned projects and installation that are assigned.
• Stay updated with latest industry trends and techniques.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
• Must be able to understand and use various hand tools, ladders, and equipment.
• Support various project teams, the BMP studio staff, and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years minimum of technical knowledge of fabrication and/or scenic processes and techniques or equivalent experience.
• Preferred fabrication and scenic experience include scenic painting, casting and molding, sculpting, prop modification, 3D printing, vinyl graphics installation, and/or spray technician. Active knowledge with prop and décor projects, theme park, immersive experiences or other professional experiences.
• Must be able to travel for installation and strike as assigned.
• Capable and self-sufficient to perform work with little to no supervision.
• Ability to accept and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives.
• Excited to work in a highly creative and fast-paced environment while maintaining a creative, curious, and innovating mindset.
• Must be flexible regarding your work schedule as project timeline commitments and installs may require longer work hours, weekends, or may occur at late evening or early morning hours outside of normal business hours.
• Ability to travel to different work sites, including flights and overnight stays for extended durations.
• Must be able to climb ladders up to 12' tall, use hand tools, and lift materials > 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and /or access to dependable transportation.
• Support various project teams, the BMP studio staff, and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information and projects shared within the studio.
• ALWAYS share the BMP studio spirit with others, internal and external.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

Job Title:

Scenic Fabricator Compensation:

$22.00 - $30.00 /hr. commensurate with experience.

Paid Vacation:

8 days paid holidays 5 days paid BMP wellness week 40 hours of flexible PTO eligible after the first 90 days
