Job Description:
Position Title:
Technical Crew/Set Design and Workshop Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY
  • This position is ideal for students interested in technical theatre, engineering, construction, or event production.
You will get practical experience in a live theater setting. This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) students only.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
  • Assist in setting up lighting, sound, and stage equipment for productions.
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of technical gear.
  • Working on screen / LED backdrop (QLab) technology.
  • Collaborate with the technical director(s) to ensure smooth production.
  • Help with stage design and construction of sets and props as needed.
  • Help with organization and clean up of materials and theatre space.
  • Support during live performances as needed to manage technical aspects.
REQUIRED
Hard /
Specialized Skills:
  • Knowlege of or willingness to learn carpentry/ using hand tools like drills, hammers, saws, etc.
Painting and Scenic Work:
experience painting sets and/or crafting props
    Stage Crew Experience:
    basic knowledge of backstage work
      Lighting Basics:
      Familiarity with or willingness to learn hanging and adjusting lights
