Weekly Auction Gallery Operations Manager

Job Description

Weekly Auction Manager - Falls Church Love antiquing? Organizing? Helping people? Have a background in art, history, antiques, vintage furniture? We're seeking a meticulous, organized individual to lead our team and work in our Falls Church gallery. The ideal candidate MUST have 2-5 years post university Full-time experience managing people and space. A background in art, antiques, auctions, etc. a plus. This role requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Responsibilities include but are not limited to leading a team, managing inventory/space, conflict resolution, communication with coworkers and clients. Other duties include unpacking customer deliveries, sorting items for sale or donation, organizing sellable items into auction-ready lots, researching item manufacturers and artists, responding to customer inquiries, preparing and successfully uploading a weekly auction sale, coordinating with other auction teams preparing speciality auctions, and coordinating pick up and shipping of purchased auction items. Ability to take photos, operate workspace software and auction software, and strong computer skills preferred. Must be able to lift 50lbs and large pieces of furniture, bend and stretch overhead and stand for long periods of time. And be willing to dig in and get your hands dirty. This position requires an individual with a good work ethic and the ability to work efficiently and manage in a fast-paced environment. As a small company we're looking for a team player who can represent the company and produce auctions.

A Set or Exhibit Designer designs display booths or exhibits for museums, galleries or trade shows. Develops drawings and plans to accommodate the specific space, lighting and temperature requirements of materials to be exhibited; builds or supervises building of exhibits. Designs stage sets and scenery for performances, primarily for live theater performances, or sets for filmed performances or for events such as press conferences. Works with directors and producers to plan props and materials needed for a show.
