Job Description
KR8TIV Justice is seeking an experienced Sound Mixer for a one-day documentary shoot for Voices of the Vote, a youth journalism project featuring teen reporters across Los Angeles. This role will be responsible for capturing professional audio for our outdoor sit-down interviews and preparing our teen reporters with their audio equipment before they head to their assigned filming locations. We are looking for someone who can ensure each reporter's sound setup is properly mic'd, tested, and ready for field recording.
Responsibilities include:
- Record and monitor audio for outdoor sit-down interviews
- Set up and mic teen reporters before they depart for their filming locations
- Test wireless/lavalier systems and confirm clean audio
- Provide reporters and crew with basic guidance for monitoring and troubleshooting audio in the field
Monitor and manage environmental/background noise during sit-down interviews Ideal candidate: - Experience with documentary, interview, television, or unscripted productions
Strong experience recording outdoor dialogue - Has their own professional location sound equipment preferred
- Reliable, efficient, and collaborative
Rate:
$500 for the day
