Sound Engineer (Live Events) - 1099

Apache XLR - Atlanta, GA Apache XLR is seeking an experienced Live Sound Engineer to join our entertainment team. This is a 1099 independent contractor position and is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, and experienced in live event production. About the Role You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality sound for our live entertainment events, including spoken word, comedy, vocalists, DJs, and live bands. Responsibilities Operate front-of-house sound for live events. Complete sound check 1 hour before doors open. Mix microphones, DJs, comedians, poets, vocalists, and live bands. Monitor and adjust audio throughout each performance. Set up and break down basic audio equipment as needed. Keep the sound booth and equipment organized and clean after every event. Communicate professionally with artists, hosts, and venue staff. Schedule Apache XLR is open 7 days a week, providing opportunities for consistent work. Most events run approximately 4 hours. The majority of shifts involve simple DJ and microphone mixing. Live bands are scheduled 2-3 nights per week. Evening and weekend availability is required. Qualifications Previous live sound engineering experience is required. Experience mixing live bands and live performances. Ability to troubleshoot audio issues quickly in a live environment. Strong understanding of gain structure, feedback control, EQ, and digital mixing consoles. Professional, reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Compensation 1099 Independent Contractor Payment is issued within 48 hours via Zelle. Compensation is discussed based on experience.
