Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Church Audio Board Operator to bring professionalism to our worship service. In this vital role, you will manage sound and audio equipment to ensure high-quality audio experiences for the congregation and excellent support of our musicians. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant faith community while honing your technical skills in a lively, supportive setting. Duties Operate and monitor the church's soundboard during services, rehearsals, and special events to deliver clear, balanced audio. Adjust audio levels in real-time, ensuring optimal sound quality for both live audiences and recording purposes. Set up, test, and troubleshoot audio equipment including microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and mixing consoles before each event. Collaborate with worship leaders, musicians, and technical teams to coordinate audio needs and ensure seamless transitions. Record live sessions for post-production editing or online streaming content creation. Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of all audio equipment; perform routine inspections and repairs as needed. Qualifications Proven experience operating audio mixing consoles in live settings; familiarity with signal processing is a plus. Strong knowledge of sound reinforcement techniques, microphone placement, and acoustics management. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently during live events. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and congregation members. Prior experience working in a church or similar community environment is preferred but not required.
