Job Description
We have a new career opportunity for a Technical Illustrator/Writer in our Marketing/Communications Department. Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, task oriented and driven to improve processes. The primary responsibility of this position is the research, development, production, and revision of Service, Parts and Operators manuals for all product lines including Crane, Freeman Hay Balers, Long Reach Forklift Attachments, Winch, Wagner Log Stackers and Chip Dozers. This includes working on Service and Parts Bulletins, Kit Lists, Specification Sheets, Suggested Spares Guides and other projects. Additional Responsibilities Assist with management and prioritization of department projects Identify opportunities to improve and automate department processes Develop parts lists and Master Check Sheets from engineering and/or vendor data. Consults with personnel from engineering, purchasing, final assembly, parts department, service department, marketing, and various vendors. Physical checks on machines/cranes and their component parts â€" makes notes and sketches and/or photographs as required. Uses computer to obtain and maintain information in multiple databases. Creates pictorial and orthographic illustrations using computers (Inventor, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, etc.). Skill Requirements This position requires that one be familiar with engineering documentation procedures. A basic understanding of mechanical equipment helpful. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to develop and maintain accurate records and files. Software Skills Must have some experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Professional, Dreamweaver, etc. Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Prior experience with CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD is preferred, but not required. Experience with basic HTML and CSS is preferred, but not required. Must be skilled in technical writing, with an ability to create concise grammatically correct procedures. Please email a brief (1 page or less) cover letter with salary history and 1-2 page resume.
