Job Description
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Organize, write, revise and maintain technical material per established company standards with respect to order, style, terminology and sequencing.
- Observe production assembly procedures and related processes and write work instructions to describe exact procedures. Take photographs of procedures to incorporate into written instructions.
- Select or recommend use of layouts, graphics, drawings, tables, exhibits, or illustrations to amplify or clarify publication objectives.
- Work with Engineering and Marketing & Sales staff to create new or revise existing product manuals, instructions or other product related documentation.
- Produce, organize and maintain publications according to company standards. Learn and follow established Document Control Process to maintain the integrity of company documents.
- Maintain documents, files, electronic media and archiving of information for publications.
- Consult with technical team leads and subject-matter experts to ensure common understanding of publications and related materials.
- Periodically audit and review publications to determine whether format or content revisions or updates are required. Meet with subject-matter experts for concurrence as to content changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- AA degree in English, communications or technical field preferred; or the equivalent of coursework and related work experience.
- Ability to speak, write, and communicate in the English language fluently is required.
- Must have strong writing and editing skills, with 2 years writing and editing experience required.
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Must have strong communication skills to ensure understanding of instructions, markups of materials, and edits.
- Must have the ability to listen carefully in order to transcribe technical explanations, conversations and procedures; document these transcriptions into clear, written procedures and documents; follow an editing process which validates the documentation for use.
- Proficiency in recent MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Basic use of recent Microsoft Windows operating systems and use of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Must be able to take digital photos of good quality for products and place into documents.
- Good organization skills are required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, learn new things quickly, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibly.
- Requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well both independently and with other people. Must be able to collaborate and interact successfully with managers and co-workers to produce quality products. Good problem-solving skills and good judgment.
- Results-oriented and self-starting nature, with a demonstrated track record of success.
- Must have strong attendance record and work ethic, and maintain a positive attitude at all times.
Physical Job Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will continually sitting, standing, walking, using arms, hands and fingers for handling, and using vision to see small detailed work.
- This position operates in an indoor office environment, and will regularly work in assembly and production areas, of which some are warehouse-like environments.
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM; hours may vary as needed based on business needs.
Pay/Benefits:
Hourly salary range is $19.00- $28.50 per hour plus excellent benefits. The starting wage will be $19.00
