Editor Position Status:

Contingent upon contract award and Government approval, as applicable. Position Summary Develop, edit, and quality-review scientific, technical, evaluation, policy, training, and public-facing products required across the DNPAO portfolio and CDC clearance process. This role will support the high volume of scientific, programmatic, evaluation, policy, and public-facing products required across the DNPAO portfolio. The writer/editor may develop or refine annual reports, evaluation summaries, technical-assistance tools, manuscripts, success stories, issue briefs, guidance, training materials, presentations, web language, and executive products while coordinating CDC review and clearance and ensuring plain language, references, accessibility, and editorial consistency. Key Responsibilities Draft and edit reports, manuscripts, briefs, guidance, toolkits, training materials, presentations, and web language. Perform substantive editing, copyediting, proofreading, fact checking, and reference review. Translate technical and scientific information without compromising accuracy. Coordinate review and CDC clearance, reconcile comments, and maintain version control. Apply plain language, editorial standards, accessibility requirements, and approved templates. Prepare publication-ready, leadership-ready, and recipient-facing final products.

Minimum Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree.

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience writing and editing scientific, technical, public health, policy, evaluation, or Government content. Experience supporting complex review and clearance cycles, references and citations, plain language, accessibility, manuscripts, reports, briefs, training resources, presentations, and web content is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, timely, and high-quality work in a multidisciplinary, deadline-driven environment. Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, organization, judgment, and client-service skills. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting CDC, HHS, another federal health agency, a public health recipient network, or a comparable mission-focused organization.
