POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for creating time studies for published mechanical service procedures. It involves working closely with the Mechanical Service Information Development team as well as the Validation/Labor Time Technicians to ensure all service procedures are valid, optimized and time studied. Apply automotive knowledge and utilize multiple source files in order to identify appropriate content for use in publications Support Labor Time Guide impacted special projects Conform to security policies and data integrity Respond respectfully to requests for information Ensure accurate and proper reporting on project progress to leadership Support meetings as required 3-5 years automotive technician experience preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create time studies for published mechanical service procedures in collaboration with the Mechanical Service Information Development team and Validation/Labor Time Technicians. Apply automotive knowledge and utilize multiple source files to identify appropriate content for use in publications. Write labor time studies based on markups provided by technicians. Support Labor Time Guide impacted special projects. Collaborate with foreman and technician teams on assigned vehicle responsibilities. Ensure accurate and proper reporting on project progress to leadership. Conform to security policies and data integrity standards. Respond respectfully to requests for information. Support meetings as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required 3-5 years of hands-on automotive technician experience, including work on engines, transmissions, and full-vehicle systems. Candidates without direct vehicle repair experience will not be considered. Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent technical experience. Ability to apply automotive knowledge to identify and develop accurate technical content for service publications. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and report on multiple concurrent projects. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience writing service information or technical documentation (candidates with a service writing background may also be considered). Familiarity with Labor Time Guide processes or mechanical service information development.
