  • ONSITE in Sparks, NV
  • We are hiring a Senior Technical Writer - Aerospace & Defense to develop technical documentation for advanced mission payloads, electronic systems, integrated aircraft, and space-exploration systems.
Working closely with engineers, program managers, and other subject-matter experts, this individual will create and revise operations and maintenance manuals, supplements, procedures, and related publications. Source material will include engineering drawings, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and CAD models. The writer will also lead recurring documentation-review meetings and incorporate stakeholder feedback into future revisions.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and six or more years of relevant experience Advanced knowledge of technical-writing principles, practices, and standards Experience developing operations, maintenance, or other technical manuals Advanced Microsoft Word desktop-publishing skills Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Adobe publishing and document-production experience Ability to create documents containing graphics, tables, and other embedded content Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and development teams Strong editing, formatting, organization, and communication skills Preferred qualifications: Aerospace, defense, military, or Department of Defense experience Experience creating aircraft or space-system technical publications Experience preparing Contract Data Requirements List deliverables Experience with test plans, procedures, proposals, and RFP responses Ability to prepare documentation with minimal input from engineering subject-matter experts Adobe FrameMaker experience Experience creating templates, layout guides, and graphics resources Familiarity with engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and CAD models
Pay:
Up to $47.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
