Position Summary The Strategic Proposal Writer is responsible for developing customer-focused, strategically positioned proposal responses. They work on moderately complex proposals and broker/consultant surveys/RFIs for our corporate constituents (brokers/consultants, prospects and customers). The candidate will write and edit in accordance with company brand standards, plain language and internal RFP style guide standards as well as apply research and data gathering skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to be creative, apply personal initiative and must be well organized and able to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop customer-focused, strategically positioned proposal responses for moderately complex RFPs, RFIs, questionnaires, and broker/consultant surveys.
- Create compelling, persuasive, and accurate proposal content that aligns CVS Health products, programs, and services with customer needs and business strategies.
- Write, edit, and proofread proposal responses in accordance with company brand standards, plain language principles, and internal proposal style guidelines.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, sales partners, and internal stakeholders to gather information and ensure proposal content is accurate, current, and competitive.
- Interpret customer requirements and develop tailored value propositions that clearly articulate organizational strengths and differentiators.
- Conduct research and data gathering to support proposal development and provide relevant, evidence-based responses.
- Utilize proposal content management databases and established workflows to efficiently respond to customer requests and ad hoc proposal opportunities.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while effectively balancing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Apply creativity, strategic thinking, and personal initiative to enhance proposal quality and strengthen customer engagement.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with field sales teams, brokers, consultants, and cross-functional business partners.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences across all levels of the organization.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve proposal-related challenges while ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Ensure all written materials demonstrate excellence in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall business writing standards.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements, content management best practices, and proposal development strategies.

Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience in sales support, marketing, journalism, communications and/or proposal writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the health insurance industry.
- Request For Proposal (RFP) experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet Explorer.
- Proficient writing skills.
- Proven time management abilities.
- Experience managing multiple priorities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $21.10 - $44.99 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. Our people fuel our future.
