Hanwha Vision America (HVA) is seeking a skilled Technical Writer focusing on the security industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a deep understanding of security technologies such as IP cameras, NVRs, and VMS software. Must have a proven track record of creating clear, concise and technically accurate how-to guides for users of varying experience levels. Reporting to the Knowledge Manager, the Technical Writer will be crucial in ensuring our products are accompanied by comprehensive and user-friendly documentation. Responsibilities for
Technical Writer:
Develop clear and comprehensive how-to guides, user manuals, and technical documentation for our security products, including IP cameras, NVRs, and VMS software. Translate complex technical concepts into simple, easy-to-understand instructions for users of all experience levels. Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure the accuracy of technical content. Ensure that documentation includes accurate technical instructions. Edit and proofread documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company standards. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, technical support, and sales, to gather information and ensure documentation meets the needs of end users. Respond promptly to feedback and update documentation accordingly to address user needs and improve overall usability. Stay abreast of products, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure documentation remains relevant and up-to-date. Write and organize troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and best practices documentation to assist users with common issues and maximize product effectiveness. Incorporate diagrams, illustrations, and other visuals to enhance understanding of installation steps, product layouts, and system configurations. Regularly gather feedback from users and support teams to improve documentation quality and relevance.
Skills and Work Experience:
Possess 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer Proven ability to create clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation with meticulous attention to detail and user focus. 3 writing samples required Excellent written (grammar, spelling, punctuation) and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize documentation needs effectively. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and documentation tools. Experience in Zendesk, Service Now, or other Ticketing/Knowledge Systems. Minimum 2 years of experience within the security industry for IP cameras, NVRs and VMS software. (Preferred)
