Wichita State University is seeking a talented Digital and Video Producer to help bring the university's stories to life through compelling visual content. As part of the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing, this hybrid creative role will produce high-quality video content and support a wide range of visual design initiatives that enhance the university's brand and engage diverse audiences. Reporting to the Director of Videography, the successful candidate will collaborate with campus partners to create content that informs, inspires and connects the Wichita State community. The ideal candidate is an experienced video producer and editor with strong skills in motion graphics, photography and graphic design. This role requires a creative professional who can work across multiple disciplines, manage projects from concept to completion and deliver compelling content in a fast-paced environment. Apply for this position today! Job Summary Oversee the production and editing of video content, motion graphics, and graphic design projects. Essential Functions Develop, coordinate, and produce video and motion content. Assists in the design, planning, and execution of videography and visual storytelling content functions and services. Uses graphic design software to produce complex motion graphics, graphic art and visual materials for items such as promotions, advertisements, films, packaging, and informative and instructional material through a variety of media outlets. Creates highly complex graphics primarily for published, printed or electronic media, such as brochures, web pages, motion graphics, interactive media and multimedia projects for advertising. Uses color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques in adherence to University media standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure integrated campaigns.Job Duties Typical week:
Collaborate with the Strategic Communications and Marketing team to review upcoming video and design projects and assist with preproduction planning, including shot lists, locations, schedules and talent. Execute video productions by covering events, setting up and recording interviews, and capturing professional video and audio on location. Edit assigned projects in Premiere Pro, create motion graphics and animation in After Effects, and develop supporting graphics in Photoshop or Illustrator. Partner with the social media team to help produce short-form video content for social platforms. Manage assigned projects and production tasks in coordination with the Director of Videography, while also capturing and editing still photography as needs arise.Required Education and Experience:
60 hours of college coursework in graphic design, film design, or marketing.Four (4) years of experience in video and audio media production, motion graphics, and visual storytelling. An additional 60 hours of college coursework can be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
