Video Editor | A for Adley & Best Day Ever Spacestation | Layton, UT | Hybrid (in the studio most of the week) | Full-time About the job The people here at the Spacestation make A for Adley, Best Day Ever, G for Gaming and Spacestation Animation come to life. 20 billion views across all channels, a weekly release on each channel, some are twice a week, and a studio in Layton where the videos actually get made. We're adding editors who can take a day of raw footage and find the story in it. You would have responsibility for each edited video start to finish: watch everything, decide with direction what the episode is about, build the rough cut, take notes from the lead editor / creator, and land the final. Most weeks that's one long-form episode (20 - 40 minutes finished) plus the shorts that come off it. What we're looking for You've cut long-form YouTube before and can show it. One video you cut end to end tells us more than a reel. You solve story problems. If a joke needs four seconds, you give it four seconds. If a segment drags, you cut it. You're fast on a rough cut: a day of footage to a watchable rough in a day. Premiere Pro required. After Effects or motion basics are a plus but not required. Understanding our target audience. Kids 6 - 12 and their parents. If you've made things for them before, say so. If you have kids who watch, say that too. Coachable. We hire on warmth, curiosity, work ethic and honesty first and teach the rest. Live in or near Layton preferred. Possibly open to remote applicants.
