Job Description

ABOUT THE COOK GROUP
The Cook Group is a growing life insurance sales, leadership development, and wealth-building organization committed to helping insurance professionals build successful, sustainable businesses while helping families create financial security and generational wealth. Our organization produces a significant amount of original content through trainings, live events, speaking engagements, coaching, interviews, educational programs, social media, agent development, and executive thought leadership. We are building a professional media and content infrastructure capable of transforming that intellectual property into high-quality content that educates, inspires, attracts, and converts. Overview The Cook Group is hiring an autonomous, fast-paced Video Editor & Content Repurposing Specialist to turn our raw media into a high-performing content engine. We don't just need a technician to trim clips; we need an editorial storyteller who can watch a 60-90 minute keynote, Zoom training, or event recording and independently identify the hooks, lessons, and authority moments inside it— without needing timestamps from leadership.
The Goal:
Transform 1 raw recording into 10-20+ high-impact assets across multiple platforms with minimal executive oversight. Core Responsibilities Short-Form Editing (9:16): Create high-retention Reels, TikToks, and Shorts featuring strong 2-second hooks, dynamic cuts, captions, B-roll, punch-ins, and sound design.
Content Mining:
Independently review long-form footage to extract powerful stories, contrarian views, sales tactics, and soundbites. Long-Form Production (16:9): Polish YouTube videos, podcasts, and presentations with color grading, clean audio, slides, lower thirds, and branded motion graphics.
Training & IP Development:
Turn internal Zoom calls and workshops into clean, modular digital curriculum with chapter markers and intro/outros.
Live Event Coverage:
Cut recap reels, speaker clips, and promotional assets from conferences and live events.
Content Asset Management:
Maintain a disciplined 10-folder media library (from 01_RAW to 10_BRAND ASSETS) so no footage is lost. Turnaround Expectations Short-Form (Reels/Shorts/TikTok): 24-48 hours Standard Long-Form (YouTube/Keynotes): 2-4 business days
Training Modules:
Based on scope (typically 3-5 days) Required Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro , DaVinci Resolve , or Final Cut Pro . Experience with After Effects , CapCut , Descript , and Photoshop. Deep understanding of social media pacing, hook retention, audio sweetening, and platform aspect ratios (9:16, 16:9, 1:1).
High creative agency:
you take initiative, spot great moments on your own, and meet deadlines consistently.
How to Apply Please submit:
Resume & Portfolio:
Include 3 short-form examples and 1 long-form example .
Details:
Primary editing software, weekly availability, typical turnaround time, and compensation expectations.
Brief Strategy:
In a few bullet points, explain how you would turn an unedited 60-minute keynote into a multi-week content package. Top candidates will complete a paid trial edit using authentic Cook Group footage.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
