We're looking for someone who understands YouTube at a deep level and can help create videos that people actually want to watch. They should be comfortable directing while filming, improving hooks, planning better stories, capturing stronger B-roll, and making sure every video is built to perform on YouTube. Think of this as a creative partner rather than just someone holding a camera. Responsibilities Work alongside our CEO multiple days each week in Spanish Fork, UT. Capture "Week in the Life" content by following CEO's daily schedule. Film educational/top-of-funnel YouTube videos. Plan content before filming. Brainstorm video ideas every week. Develop titles before filming. Help develop thumbnail concepts before filming. Build shot lists. Direct CEO while filming. Capture all necessary B-roll. Help improve storytelling. Think about pacing and retention while filming. Review YouTube analytics. Recommend improvements based on data. Collaborate with our editor to ensure the final product matches the vision. Editing experience is a bonus, but not required. Producing great YouTube content is far more important than editing. Ideal Candidate The right person should: Be obsessed with YouTube. Understand viewer psychology. Think in hooks, curiosity, retention, and storytelling. Be comfortable giving direction on camera. Know when to push for another take. Understand thumbnails and titles. Be creative. Be proactive. Be confident enough to challenge ideas if they believe there's a better approach. Skills Proficiency in photography, videography, and video editing software with experience in broadcast journalism editing tools preferred Strong written communication skills with expertise in journalistic writing, copywriting, and proofreading Bilingual abilities are a plus to reach broader audiences effectively Extensive knowledge of social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook for content dissemination and engagement Excellent storytelling skills combined with research capabilities to craft compelling narratives Experience in digital journalism, television broadcast editing, news broadcast videography, and article writing is highly desirable Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a creative team and engage viewers authentically
