Advocate Media Company is the media and marketing engine behind its client, Sina Rez Law, a consumer protection law firm with a founder who is also a car guy and the on-camera talent for everything we make. We publish short-form content daily across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with a paid content engine running alongside it. Right now, the founder is being filmed by the people running the business. That's the job you're taking over, and then making 10x better. You'll be the first full-time hire on the content team, employed by Advocate Media Company and embedded full-time with the firm. You'll initially work directly with the founder. As the team grows, you'll work closely with a Creative Director while continuing to own production and editing. What you'll own Shoot days, 2+ per week: talking head, b-roll, on-location, and automotive content. You run camera, lighting, and audio as a one-person crew.
The editing standard:
you'll cut the first version of new formats and establish the style that future editors and freelancers will follow.
Short-form production:
this is the core of the job. You'll help turn ideas into high-performing content quickly and consistently.
Long-form as a secondary focus:
you'll also shoot and edit YouTube videos and larger brand pieces as they come up.
The kit and the studio:
you'll help choose the gear, build out shooting spaces, and improve the production setup over time.
The visual hook:
angle, action, framing, pacing, and aesthetic. You'll be expected to care about skip rate and retention graphs, not just how a frame looks.
Speed:
you know when a video needs another hour and when it needs to ship. We publish constantly, so speed matters as much as taste. Who this is for You shoot and edit, and you have a reel that proves both. The reel matters more than the resume. You understand composition, lighting, camera movement, and visual storytelling at a high level, whether you learned it in film school, on set, or by doing the work. You know how to make short-form feel intentional rather than disposable. You're comfortable carrying a story across a longer edit when the project calls for it. You're fast, resourceful, and comfortable working independently. You want ownership early in your career instead of waiting years to get it. You care about performance. You want to know why someone stopped scrolling, kept watching, or dropped off. Car enthusiasm is a genuine plus. You'll be filming them constantly. Comp and growth $77,000-$93,500 base depending on experience. You'll be employee one of a growing content team with a real budget behind it. You'll have the freedom to help build a proper production setup, test new formats, improve the creative process, and raise the quality bar quickly. This is a full-time, in-person role in Woodland Hills, working closely with the founder and the rest of the team. To apply
