SUMMARY:
Employees of St Paul United Methodist Church are expected to conduct themselves as children of God, have and show evidence of a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ, possess and maintain the highest of Christian moral and ethical standards, and be a person who expresses a positive and mature demeanor. The Communications and Media Director will help facilitate our church vision by promoting the ministries of St. Paul United Methodist church to the community. This will be accomplished by using the church email, website and other media outlets.
QUALIFICATIONS
Have and show evidence of a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ Possess and maintain the highest of Christian moral and ethical standards Formal training or education in graphic design, communications, public relations or similar field preferred Possesses positive and mature nature Be dependable in attendance and task completion Possess excellent communication skills, and be able to effectively interact and work in a positive manner with persons of all ages and stages of life Initiates tasks on their own and stay and remains focused on a positive outcome Possesses good time management skills Show creativity in identifying, creating, and/or developing new and useful communication tools Exhibit flexibility in discharge of duties Maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries at all times Has all background checks passed and on file at the church
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain church website Advertise upcoming events, Raise awareness for ways that members and non-members can get involved, Raise awareness about what St. Paul is doing for the community it serves, Coordinate subsites and their corresponding administrators for cohesive approach, Follow up with new member inquiries. Social Media Promote upcoming events, Post/edit photos and videos of St. Paul events or community involvement, Encourage discussion among followers through inspiration posts, Respond to review and inquiries; follow up with "visitors," where applicable Monitor and encourage interaction with members Recruit, train and manage a social media ambassador team Attend church events for promotional purposes to connect the community to the church Communications Create flyers (digital and print) for church and community events Create sermon series graphics and promotions Develop a system for congregants to submit communications for publication Audio/ Video Production Produce digital media content for website, YouTube, and social media, Live stream/ record audio and video content, Assist with the production of online sermons/ videos, Edit audio/ video content through editing software, Utilize post production software to enhance audio/ video content, Archival of digital media content, Run live sound for church events, check, and monitor live sound during worship. Recruit, train and manage a volunteer team to assist with audio/video for worship and church events Logistics Maintain email, zoom and other pertinent web needs Keep a working technology archive, Recommend new technologies for purchase, Research emerging technologies in audio, video, and information technology fields. Job duties include, but are not limited to, the position's essential functions. St. Paul Church retains the discretion to add to or to change the duties or the status of this position at any time. Work hours shall be directed by the Pastor.
WORK SCHEDULE
The Media Director's hours will be directed by the Pastor. With the Pastor's approval, additional hours may be added to accommodate unique circumstances.

Requires long periods of sitting at a computer in an office setting. Requires working in an environment with children and adults present. Requires working in an environment that may have frequent interruptions. Requires speaking and listening to both individuals and small groups.
