Customs Entry Writer The MOHR Enterprises LLC Lakewood, CA Job Details Full-time $28 - $30 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Customs Brokerage Entry Specialist Lakewood, CA 90712 | Full-Time | 100% Onsite | $28-$30/hour + Benefits About the Opportunity We're looking for an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join a growing customs brokerage team. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing and processing import entries, ensuring shipments move efficiently through U.S. Customs while maintaining compliance with FDA, PGA, and other government agency requirements. If you thrive in a fast-paced brokerage environment, enjoy solving clearance issues, and have experience processing high-volume customs entries, we'd love to hear from you. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and process customs entries for imported shipments Verify commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and supporting documentation for accuracy Enter shipment information into customs brokerage systems and maintain accurate records Research and verify HTS classifications when needed Process FDA, PGA, and other government agency requirements, including "May Proceed" releases Monitor Customs, FDA, and agency releases, holds, exams, and pending shipments Resolve documentation discrepancies and communicate with customers regarding missing information Coordinate with carriers, steamship lines, CFS facilities, warehouses, and trucking companies to ensure timely cargo release Correct entry, bill of lading, and documentation errors that could delay clearance Maintain communication with internal teams throughout the import process Transfer completed files to the post-entry team for final processing Qualifications 3+ years of customs brokerage or customs entry writing experience Experience processing customs entries in a high-volume environment Strong knowledge of HTS classification, Customs regulations, FDA, PGA, ISF, and import compliance Experience with CargoWise, ACE/ABI, QuestaWeb, Descartes, NETCHB, or similar customs brokerage systems is preferred Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve documentation discrepancies Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment This is a full-time onsite opportunity with a collaborative team that values accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional customer service.
