Job DescriptionNBC Bay Area is looking for a dynamic and creative journalist to join our award-winning team as a full-time Multi-Platform Content Producer, Writer and Fill-In Newscast Producer. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside some of the best journalists in the business in one of the most innovative newsrooms in the country.
If you thrive on breaking news, love crafting compelling stories, and enjoy collaborating in a fast-paced newsroom, we want to hear from you. This role includes weekend shifts and offers the chance to be at the center of breaking news coverage while working with an incredible team that's passionate about storytelling and serving Bay Area communities.
We're seeking someone with exceptional writing and producing skills, sharp editorial judgment, and the ability to move quickly without sacrificing accuracy. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a team player, and someone who brings fresh ideas to every shift.

Write and produce engaging content for broadcast, streaming, and digital platformsFill in as a newscast producer on assigned shows and special coverageCollaborate closely with reporters, producers, assignment editors, and digital teams to create compelling coveragePitch, research, and develop original story ideasRespond quickly and accurately to breaking news situationsHelp craft high-impact newscasts that connect with Bay Area viewersContribute to innovative storytelling across multiple platforms, including social media and streamingWhat We're Looking For:
Strong broadcast news writing skills with the ability to work under tight deadlinesExperience producing television newscasts in a fast-paced newsroom environmentExcellent news judgment and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneouslyCreative thinker who embraces a multi-platform approach to storytellingCollaborative mindset and positive attitude in a team-driven environmentPassion for local news and serving Bay Area communitiesQualificationsQualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience writing and/or producing in a medium sized television newsroom requiredBachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferredPreferred:
Experience in a mid-market or major-market newsroomFamiliarity with newsroom systems and digital publishing platformsKnowledge of the Bay Area news marketBilingual English/SpanishAdditional Requirements:
Must be willing to work full-time on-site in San Jose, CASchedule includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and breaking news coverage as needed.Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United StatesMust possess a valid driver's license
