The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of customs entry processing to ensure smooth and compliant import operations for air and ocean freight shipments. Key Responsibilities Prepare and file customs entries for air and ocean imports in compliance with CBP regulations. Review import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, arrival notices, etc.) for accuracy and completeness. Classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and determine applicable duties and taxes. Communicate with carriers, clients, customs officials, and internal departments to ensure timely clearance. Process entries via ACE and coordinate post-entry corrections as needed. Monitor shipment status to maintain visibility from arrival to final delivery. Stay current on U.S. Customs regulations, agency requirements (FDA, USDA, EPA), and industry best practices. Support internal compliance, audit, and client reporting initiatives. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in customs entry writing or import operations within a freight forwarding or brokerage environment. Proficiency with ACE/ABI entry systems and familiarity with platforms such as Descartes or WiseTech. Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and import documentation. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication abilities. Licensed Customs Broker credential preferred but not required.
