Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to join our logistics team. This vital role involves preparing and submitting accurate customs documentation to facilitate the smooth clearance of goods across international borders. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of customs regulations, freight procedures, and supply chain operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient transportation management and risk mitigation within a dynamic global logistics environment. Responsibilities Prepare and review customs entries, ensuring all documentation complies with applicable regulations such as FDA (Food and Drug Administration) standards and other regulatory requirements. Coordinate with freight carriers, brokers, and internal teams to gather necessary shipping and import/export information. Ensure timely submission of customs declarations, tariffs, and related paperwork to facilitate efficient clearance processes. Monitor regulatory reporting obligations, maintaining accurate records for compliance audits and inspections. Stay updated on changes in OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines, logistics policies, and international trade laws affecting customs procedures. Assist in risk management activities by identifying potential compliance issues and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize transportation management strategies, including fleet management considerations. Write detailed reports on customs activities, highlighting discrepancies or delays for management review. Skills Proven experience in customs documentation, freight forwarding, or related logistics roles. Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards, FDA regulations, and international trade compliance. Familiarity with supply chain management principles and transportation management systems. Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage regulatory reporting requirements efficiently while maintaining compliance. Skilled in risk management practices related to customs clearance processes. Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams, external agencies, and regulatory bodies. Knowledge of fleet management concepts and their impact on transportation operations.
