Job Description

Autism Speaks is dedicated to supporting individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and resources; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. This position is a part-time temporary position working anywhere in the United States. The Content Resources Coordinator supports Services and Supports' portfolio of content and resources to address the diverse needs of the autism community. This position will assist in creation, research, factchecking, and editing of original autism-related content including long form guides (tool kits/roadmaps), training, human interest stories, marketing material including website copy and landing pages, newsletters, media outreach, and infographics, and other public-facing organizational program material as needed. This is not for someone who relies on AI to write but instead uses AI tools for ideation, SEO, editing, and managing their workflow.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in development and promotion of Services and Supports content and messaging. Research, draft, fact-check, and edit content. Prepare content for delivery in multiple formats and across multimedia platforms.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree with concentration in Journalism, Communications or English preferred
Experience :
3+ years of website publishing experience mandatory; media, healthcare, science, government advocacy or education industry preferred Knowledge of autism and experience with individuals with autism and their families highly preferred Strong writing and content development skills and knowledge of editorial standards and practices mandatory; editorial experience preferred Experience with content management systems (Drupal, WordPress or similar) mandatory; learning management systems and digital publishing tools preferred Proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel necessary Specialized Skills and Knowledge Excellent written communication skills Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders Detail oriented, highly organized, ability to work independently with minimal supervision
