Full-Time Position Overview:

K Altman Law is seeking a highly motivated entry-level attorney or recent law school graduate to join its Litigation Team as a Legal Brief Writer / Associate Attorney. This remote position offers close mentorship and supervision from the firm's Lead Litigation Attorney and Managing Attorney. The successful candidate will have exceptional legal research, analysis, and writing abilities, with a demonstrated interest in education law, civil rights law, and constitutional litigation. The primary focus of this role is producing high-quality legal research and drafting in support of active and anticipated litigation matters. This position may yield an opportunity to expand into a hybrid legal writing/entry level litigation role, if desired.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct legal research on civil rights, education law, constitutional law, and related litigation issues. Draft legal memoranda, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents, with an emphasis on constitutional and appellate-style arguments. Review, revise, and refine drafts in response to substantive feedback from supervising attorneys. Assist with case preparation, including review of records, pleadings, discovery materials, and legal authorities. Communicate professionally with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and other attorneys by telephone, email, and virtual platforms. Collaborate with the Litigation Team on case strategy, ongoing matters, and anticipated litigation. Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.

Required Qualifications:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Demonstrated coursework, clinical experience, or a strong interest in education law and civil rights law. Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions and incorporate substantive feedback effectively. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote legal team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recently licensed attorney with one to three years of legal experience, or a recent bar examination candidate awaiting results. Law review, legal journal, moot court, appellate advocacy, or substantial legal writing experience. Familiarity with federal court practice and briefing standards. Previous employment with a litigation firm is preferred but not required.

Compensation and Benefits:
