Job Description

Job Summary We're hiring a Customs Entry Writer to handle import entries end-to-end. You'll be responsible for getting entries right the first time-accurate classification, compliant declarations, and fast clearance. This role suits someone who can manage volume without cutting corners. Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit import entries in CargoWise accurately and on time Classify goods using correct HS codes and apply appropriate duty/tax treatments Ensure full compliance with customs regulations and partner government agencies Review shipping documents (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading) and flag discrepancies Calculate duties, VAT, and other charges correctly Communicate with customs authorities and resolve queries or holds quickly Track shipments through clearance and deal with issues before they escalate Maintain clean, audit-ready records for every entry Provide clear, practical guidance to clients and internal teams on import requirements Requirements Experience in customs entry writing within freight forwarding or brokerage Solid understanding of tariff classification, customs procedures, and import compliance Ability to handle multiple entries and deadlines without losing accuracy Confident communicator who can deal with both clients and authorities Working knowledge of Incoterms and standard shipping documentation
