Employment & Freelance Opportunities The Munising Beacon is a locally owned weekly newspaper serving Munising, Alger County and communities throughout Michigan's Upper Peninsula. As we continue to expand our print, digital, advertising and creative services, we are looking to grow our team in several areas. We are currently seeking freelance writers and freelance graphic designers and are developing an advertising sales and business development position. All positions are remote and offer flexibility, although some reporting and sales responsibilities may require travel within the local coverage area.

We are interested in writers who can help us tell the stories of our communities, from local government and public meetings to schools, businesses, events and the people who make the Upper Peninsula unique.
