Job Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Desigher 4 for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIREDSKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): Associate's degree or other 2-year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years' experience or a combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of a degree (HS diploma and 10 years in a related field).POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs components or portions of Pipe systems and modifies existing Pipe designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, AUTOCAD, SHIP CONSTRUCTOR andNAVISWORKS.
Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Designs major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal. Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost. Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development. Makes layouts of complex assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures. Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIREDSKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): High level of experience/efficiency for both AUTOCAD andSHIP CONSTRUCTOR.
Primary function will be checking 3D Models and 2D Drawings. Preferred but not required, high level of proficiency working P1 Weld Joints and Pipe Details.REQUIRED EDUCATION
Accredited High School diploma or equivalent.WORK HOURS
