Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a dynamic school setting near Eunice, NM! Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or related field Valid state certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (or eligibility to obtain) Experience working in school-based settings preferred Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphereKey Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in accordance with IEPs Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet students' unique communication and learning needs Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions Foster a respectful, affirming classroom culture that encourages self-advocacy and academic achievement Stay current on best practices and innovations in Deaf Education Working in this supportive school environment, you'll enrich students' educational experiences and help set them on a path for lifelong success.
