Diesel Mechanic

Continental Express, Inc. is a leading truck-load carrier and full-service logistics company that specializes in transporting refrigerated freight. We are currently seeking a experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our team in the South Chicago area. This person will provide maintenance and roadside assistance to our fleet in Chicago and Northern Indiana. Position will be based from our terminal in Oswego. These positions are for day shift positions.

Role Responsibilities:

Conduct routine and emergency maintenance and repairs of our fleet vehicles. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues accurately and efficiently. Perform diagnostics and repairs on Freightliner Cascadia tractors. Complete routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, transmission flushes, and parts replacement (headlights, starters, alternators, batteries, side steps, door hinges, fuses, bulbs, hoses, etc.) Address and resolve brake systems, rotors, and ABS issues among other mechanical repairs Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities are performed to the highest standards of safety and quality. Work autonomously and responsibly, managing time effectively to meet service commitments. Collaborate with corporate maintenance and operations departments.

Requirements:

2-year minimum diesel mechanic experience Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and a history of performing effective repairs Organizational and time management skills CDL preferred but not required. Must have clean driving record. Refrigeration experience (Thermo King or Carrier) helpful Employee provides own basic tools
