Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will leverage your mechanical expertise to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and uphold the highest standards of vehicle and equipment maintenance. Your skills will directly contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our operations, making a real impact every day. Duties Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs and fluid replacements to keep equipment running smoothly. Troubleshoot electrical issues in automotive diagnostics systems and repair wiring or electronic components as needed. Operate heavy vehicles to facilitate repairs or move safely within the shop or job site. Follow safety protocols during all repair activities; ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adherence to OSHA standards. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and logs for all performed work; communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status or technical issues. Skills Mechanic experience working with heavy-duty vehicles. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems in vehicles/equipment, and suspension components. Proficiency in reading schematics and OEM manuals for accurate diagnostics and repairs. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, assembly work, and metal fabrication for custom repairs or modifications. Experience operating heavy vehgicles safely on job sites or within shop environments. Familiarity with service technician practices related to vehicle maintenance including, brake repair, air brake systems, and powertrain diagnostics. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools efficiently; comfortable with heavy lifting when required. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills combined with knowledge of automotive electrical systems; capable of performing wiring repairs or component replacements. Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with clients about repair needs or technical details.
