Job Description
Overview Growing company is growing their Vehicle/Equipment Department. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel and or Hydraulic Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles. Your expertise and learning our industry specific equipment will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used across various operational sectors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment, including farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy trucks, in a fast-paced environment that values technical excellence and proactive problem-solving. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, bucket trucks , and other industrial machinery. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet repair specifications. Replace or repair shocks & struts, tires, brakes, alignments, HVAC systems, and other critical vehicle components to ensure safety and compliance. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical issues accurately. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed; ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines. Assist in the assembly of new equipment or machinery and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Skills Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment operation background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, HVAC systems, and air brake systems. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and diagnostic software. Ability to read schematics accurately for electrical wiring and mechanical assemblies. Experience with automotive repair including brake repair, tire service, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement. Knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment maintenance, excavator operation, crane servicing, forklift repair & service technician skills. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation; capable of heavy lifting safely when required. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures for trucks and other large vehicles; ability to perform welding and fabrication tasks efficiently.
