Diesel Service Manager

Position Overview Carolina East is seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead our heavy-duty diesel repair operations in La Grange, NC. This position is responsible for supervising technicians, managing workflow in the shop, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring high-quality repairs are completed safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on diesel mechanic experience combined with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities of diesel technicians and shop personnel Schedule and prioritize repairs to ensure timely completion of work Diagnose complex mechanical issues and provide technical guidance to mechanics Maintain high standards for workmanship, safety, and productivity Communicate with customers regarding repair estimates, timelines, and service recommendations Build and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service Review repair orders for accuracy and completeness Manage shop workflow, labor hours, and technician efficiency Assist with hiring, training, and mentoring technicians Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies Coordinate with parts suppliers and vendors as needed Help control shop expenses and improve operational performance Qualifications Extensive experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic Previous management or supervisory experience in a repair shop environment Strong knowledge of diesel engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and diagnostics Excellent leadership and team management skills Strong customer service and communication abilities Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment Proficient with repair order systems and shop management software preferred Valid driver's license required CDL preferred but not required What We Offer Competitive pay based Opportunities for growth and advancement Benefits package including medical, dental, and vision About Carolina East Carolina East is a heavy-duty diesel repair shop serving customers throughout Eastern North Carolina.
