Job Description

The Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including trucks, commercial vehicles, and fleet units. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine issues on diesel vehicles and equipment. Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, and fuel systems. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, inspections, filter replacements, and preventive service. Use diagnostic tools, scanners, and computer systems to identify issues efficiently. Complete repair orders accurately and in a timely manner. Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer guidelines. Use diagnostic software, scan tools, and service manuals. Maintain accurate repair orders and technician notes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times. Communicate findings and repair recommendations to service advisors or management. Test drive vehicles when needed to verify repairs. Assist with shop equipment maintenance and proper tool usage Qualifications Previous diesel technician experience required. Experience working on heavy-duty trucks preferred. Strong knowledge of diesel engines and truck systems. Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues. Own tools preferred. Valid driver's license required. CDL is a plus. ASE or manufacturer certifications are a plus. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a fast-paced shop environment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on feet for extended periods Ability to work in varying temperatures and shop conditions
Pay:
$40.00 - $45.00 per hour
