Diesel Technician - Road

About the Job Lorusso Heavy Equipment (LHE) is looking for qualified off road Technicians. We are a growing construction equipment dealership looking for qualified candidates for a road service position with the following qualifications and qualities:

• Must have own tools
• A High School Diploma or GED
• At least 2 years' experience working on off-road heavy equipment or heavy truck experience.
• Hydraulics License or willing to get license once hired
• CDL is a plus but not required
• Dealer certifications such as Cummins, Yanmar, Perkins or CAT certifications are preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently in an unsupervised environment, analyze equipment malfunctions and administer the proper corrective action.
• Understanding of diesel engines and how they work.
• Ability to read electric and hydraulic schematics and understand how the systems work
• Ability to operate a laptop and software for diagnostics trouble shooting on the machines
• Have a basic understanding of truck maintenance.
• Ability to weld and fabricate a plus
• A positive attitude and a team mentality.
• Strong communication skills are required.

Essential Duties:

• Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts.
• Identify problems and causes of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.
• Orders replacement parts ensuring that parts ordered are correct and complete at time of order.
• Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components.
• Tests, measures, and adjusts engine and machine systems and components.
• Keeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems.
• Prepare accurate and complete service reports timely.
• Always maintain a professional and proper personal appearance adhering to company policy.
• Willing to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
