Shift Details:
2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Responsibilities Set and clear dining room tables before and after meals in accordance with community standards. Assist with meal service to residents while following proper portioning and therapeutic diet guidelines. Deliver meals and trays to resident apartments as needed. Wash and properly store dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to sanitation procedures. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dishwashing areas, prep stations, storage rooms, dining areas, floors, walls, and equipment. Prepare serving carts, water carafes, and dining room setups for each meal service. Buss tables, remove trash, and assist with kitchen closing duties. Vacuum and clean dining room areas to maintain a welcoming environment for residents and guests. Assist cooks and kitchen staff with food preparation and other kitchen support duties as assigned. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and Health Department guidelines. Adhere to proper food handling, storage, and infection control practices. Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, visitors, vendors, and team members. Support resident satisfaction by maintaining a friendly, courteous, and professional attitude. Work cooperatively as part of the dietary team to ensure efficient kitchen and dining operations. Attend required training sessions and follow all company policies and procedures. Support resident rights, dignity, privacy, and independence at all times. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dining Services Manager or community leadership. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous food service or hospitality experience preferred but not required. Food Handler's Permit (or ability to obtain according to state requirements). Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred. Ability to understand and follow therapeutic diet orders. Compassion for seniors and a desire to work with the elderly population. Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills. Ability to work responsibly both independently and as part of a team. Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Must meet health screening requirements and pass a criminal background check. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed. Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, bending, lifting, carrying, and pushing throughout the shift.
